Day 01: Arrive in Srinagar and Srinagar local sightseeing
On arrival at Srinagar, head to your hotel and complete the check-in procedures. Venture out on a sightseeing tour of the city. Visit the Shankaracharya Temple, situated on the Zabarwan mountain. Next, head to the famous gardens of the Mughal period – Chashmashahi, Nishat and Shalimar gardens. These gardens were conceptualized as paradise by the Mughal emperors. Today, they are popular as picnic spots. The handicraft shops are also most frequented by tourists because of the unique and handcrafted items such as shawls, bags, carpets, jackets, and much more. In the evening, head out for a stroll alongside the Dal Lake while exploring the local markets. Enjoy a night stay at your hotel.
Day 02: On to Sonamarg and back to Srinagar
Embark upon a full day tour of the picturesque hill station of Sonamarg. The territory of Ladakh starts beyond Sonamarg. It is situated at an elevation of 2,800m. Sonamarg is well-known for the fresh trout and mashed fish caught from the fast-flowing Sindh River. You can ride on a pony to one of the glaciers at your own expense. By evening, return to your hotel in Srinagar and turn in for the night.
Day 03: On to Pahalgam from Srinagar
Transfer to Pahalgam, also known as the ‘Valley of Shepherds’. It is situated at the meeting point of streams flowing from Lidder River and Sheshnag Lake. En route to Pahalgam, visit the ruins of Awantipora. It is a temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu built by Avanti Varman. On arriving in Pahalgam, enjoy the beautiful surroundings or walk to Baisaren that lies 2 km from Pahalgam. It is small village cradled between pine and fir forests that offer a pleasing view. Day 04: Pahalgam
In the morning, proceed towards Aru Valley and Chandanwari by a car at your own expense. Aru is a small village situated 11 km upstream the Lidder River. The route to Aru is scenic and filled with ample of camping sites. This village marks the starting point for treks to the Kolahoi Glacier. The Betaab Valley on the way to Chandanwari is also a must-visit destination. By nightfall, return to your hotel in Pahalgam and retire for the day.
Day 05: On to Gulmarg from Pahalgam
Savour some delectable lunch and drive to Gulmarg, known as the meadow of flowers. The route between Srinagar and Gulmarg is fascinating and will surely mesmerize you. Gulmarg is a destination popular all over the world for skiing and snowboarding. Gulmarg is famous for hosting Europeans and Britishers. Day 06: On to Srinagar from Gulmarg and back to Srinagar
